Edward Hasbrouck, author of The Practical Nomad books, is a forceful advocate for the rights of airline passengers. To gather material for his books, articles, broadcast interviews and talks, he attends many industry conferences where he can be expected to ask hard-hitting questions. This week, Hasbrouck was in Alexandria, Virginia to attend the "Aviation Secuirty Summit" organized by World Research Group, Inc. -- only to be ordered to leave at the first coffee break!
On his blog, Hasbrouck reports that the organizers of this conference had mailed him an invitation, addressed to "Edward Hasbrouck, Author, The Practical Nomad." He submitted the same information identifying himself as an author in order to download more information. The conference organizers followed up with a phone call from one of their salespeople, who listened to his voicemail -- again identifying his profession -- before leaving him messages urging me to attend.
